Happy Birthday Nixon

Today my little angel was born. She came three months early, and she’s only 2lbs 5oz and 13.5 inches long.

God Bless and Protect my tiny little angel.

Suffice to say Louisiana was not for us. While my husband and I may categorize ourselves as “country,” there are a number of things we realized that we could not live without once we attempted to settle into the slow country life we thought we wanted.

1. Mexican food- not enough can be said about the necessity of good Mexican food.  
2. Grocery stores OTHER than Super WalMart
3. Bagels
4. Sidewalks
5. Humidity < 80%
6. Straight white teeth
7. Beaches (oil free ones)
8. Smoke free bars
9. Dog parks (and doggie doo-doo laws for that matter)
10. ALL OF OUR FRIENDS!!!

While it would have been nice to buy a HUGE house with acres of land where we could hunt and fish and enjoy the great outdoors, the tradeoffs just weren’t there. We are SO happy to be back in the Golden State with the people that we love, in the climate that we love, on the coast that we love. I couldn’t dream of a better place to raise my baby girl!

When I woke up on April 28th, after a few weeks with no visit from everyone's favorite Aunt Ruby, I took a test and, as Rollo the clerk said on Juno,


"That ain't no Etch-A-Sketch. This is one doodle that can't be un-did, Homeskillet."



So, a few nauseating weeks later, I present to you our first ultrasound pics!

We're due January 6, 2011. We plan to come out to Cali the first week of November for a baby shower so all of you can see the enormous belly I'm bound to grow (I'll be 8 months at that point).

Rodeo

A couple of weeks ago Adam and I joined our friends Ashley and Kyle for a night out at the rodeo. It was DEFINITELY a new experience, and we had a great time watching all of the bull riders!.

Early on in the rodeo there was a little baby cowboy- he couldn't have been older than 8- and when he got bucked off his bull I looked Adam square in the eye and said, NOT A FUCKING CHANCE!

I LOVE getting Mail!

I haven’t been feeling well the past few weeks, and nothing lifts the spirits like a care package from one of your best friends!

Reagan is officially pregnant!
The vet said she has at least one puppy, maye two.



We can expect her new arrivals toward the end of June, most likely on Nanette's birthday, June 24th.
